Privacy policy

Version 1.0.0 uses no network permission and stores only optional preset choices locally on the device.

Effective 7 August 2026

One policy across every app surface

These sections describe the exact local-only behaviour of version 1.0.0. The in-app Privacy Center carries the same meaning, date and correspondence address.

Responsible entity, scope and effective date

Abbeyfield Marlborough Incorporated is the organization identified for the Wairau Homefolio Android application. This policy covers version 1.0.0 and is effective 7 August 2026. It does not cover the practices of Android, an app store, a device manufacturer or any external organization.

Intended audience

The app is an educational orientation resource for adults considering shared independent living, neighbours, volunteers and community participants. It is not designed for unsupervised use by children, resident screening or the management of vulnerable-person records.

Purpose and core functions

The app provides living-space questions, model layers, neighbourhood lenses, preset conversation prompts, a planning-process explainer, volunteer-role prompts, public-source notes, a visual folio and an in-app Privacy Center. It does not advertise vacancies, accept applications or report live project status.

Data collected or transmitted

The app has no networking feature and does not collect or transmit names, email addresses, phone numbers, identifiers, messages, photos, location, health information, payment information, contacts or files to Abbeyfield Marlborough Incorporated or a developer-operated server.

On-device preferences

A small set of optional choices can be saved in Android SharedPreferences on the device: selected preset cards, a selected lens, the visual-folio position and the Reduce Motion preference. These selections are used only to restore the local experience and are not a resident profile, application or assessment.

Sensitive records and free text

The app provides no free-text field and is not designed to hold care plans, medication information, disability details, incident reports, financial records, identity documents, youth records or confidential case notes. Users should not try to use screenshots or other device features to repurpose it as such a record system.

Permissions

The release manifest requests no Internet, location, camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, notification, Bluetooth, phone, SMS or storage permission. Android may display platform-managed internal components that do not provide the app with access to personal data.

Accounts and account deletion

There is no registration, login or server account. Account deletion is therefore not applicable. Local choices can be cleared with Reset local choices in the Privacy Center or by clearing app data or uninstalling the app.

Ads, analytics and third-party SDKs

The app contains no advertisements, ad attribution, analytics, tracking pixels, telemetry, crash-reporting service, social SDK, remote configuration or third-party network library. It uses Android platform APIs and bundled static content only.

Sharing, sale and third parties

Because the app does not send data to Abbeyfield Marlborough Incorporated or a developer-operated server, the app has no app-collected personal data to sell, rent or disclose. Device and app-store providers may process their own operational data under their own terms.

External links and contact

Source URLs are displayed as text for transparency and are not opened or fetched by the app. The app does not launch email, a browser or a sharing interface. If a user separately contacts an organization outside the app, that communication is governed by the recipient’s practices.

Retention

Preset selections remain only in the app’s private storage until the user resets them, clears app storage or uninstalls the app. Abbeyfield Marlborough Incorporated receives no server copy from the app and therefore applies no server retention period to these selections.

Deletion, backup and device transfer

Reset local choices removes the app’s stored preferences. Android backup and device transfer are disabled for app data in this release. Uninstalling removes app-private data subject to the device platform’s operation.

Security and limitations

Local preferences are stored in the Android app sandbox and are not intentionally transmitted. No device storage can be guaranteed absolutely secure. Users should use a device lock, install operating-system updates and avoid storing sensitive information in screenshots.

Children and safeguarding

The app does not knowingly collect information from children and includes no chat, public profile, precise-location feature, direct messaging, social feed or adult-to-child interaction. Adults remain responsible for any accompanied discussion involving younger family members.

Housing, health and professional limitations

The app is educational. It is not a care provider, emergency service, health monitor, diagnostic tool, housing assessment, legal or planning service, accessibility certification, or substitute for qualified advice. Personal support, health, safety, tenancy and planning questions should be addressed with appropriate professionals and responsible authorities.

Policy changes and user choices

A future version that adds networking, accounts, forms, analytics, advertising or other data practices will require an updated policy and Play declarations before release. Users may decline all optional selections and still read the app, and may enable Reduce Motion at any time.
